What You Put Down The Drain Comes Back To Haunt You

There’s only so much water on Earth and we’re taught from school how to evaporates to form rain that then falls on the Earth and flows back to the seas. So what happens when you add millions of humans dumping their waste into that system? Marine biologist Stephen Palumbi shows how toxins at the bottom of the ocean food chain find their way into our bodies, with a shocking story of toxic contamination from a Japanese fish market in this fascinating and compelling TED talk:

The most obvious place for us to start is cleaning up our own waste. We can look to use ecological alternatives at home such as replacing bleach with a bio-degradable alternative. There are lots of ethical cleaning products available so it’s not much of a chore to find them and prices are continuously getting better as more and more consumers support the movement towards sanity in sanitation.

If you are finding that your body has become weakened then taking a detoxification course can be highly beneficial. The most important places to begin your cleanse are the colon followed by the liver and in that order. Why? The colon is the primary route by which toxins are released from the body. If it’s fully functioning, it’ll help deeper cleansing so a colon cleanse using either Oxy-powder for a gentle programme or bentonite clay for a more involved and deeper detox is the foundation.

The liver is one of the places the body is fond of holding toxins since here it can hold them without letting the body be overcome. Of course it typically is at great cost and lowers the energy levels of the host whilst opening the doorway for further problems to enter. One way of cleansing the liver is to use coffee enemas. These cause the liver to purge out toxins which are then released along with the liquid down the toilet and many people note a big shift in energy levels after completing a coffee enema detox.

Naturally, in order to do a coffee enma liver detox, the colon needs to be clear, hence the reason we recommend a colon detox first.

The most important thing is not to give up trying. Pollute less, avoid sources of contamination and take regular detoxes and you’ll soon realise why a clean life is too good not to not be fighting for.

What I Would Do If I Had Cancer – Dr Vernon Coleman

We recently posted a video by Kevin Gianni about what would you do if you had cancer and featured an insight from William Li who spoke on can we eat to starve cancer at TED. Following on this theme, we’re featuring a few extract from the writing of Vernon Coleman.

For those of you not familiar with Vernon Coleman, here’s a quick introduction. He used to be a GP and went on to be the first television doctor on British breakfast TV. He’s subsequently gone on to write many books including a novel which was turned into a film. Below are a few choice extracts from one of his most famous titles “How to stop your doctor from killing you“. We highly recommend reading it. The following extracts from chapter 34 – what I would do if doctors told me I had cancer, are included to provoke some thought.

“I have a one in three chance of being told one day that I have cancer. And you face the same odds. Actually the odds are getting worse. If the incidence of cancer continues to rise at the same rate at which it has risen for the last few years then within a decade or so one in two of us will hear those frightening words – or whichever euphemism our doctor feels most comfortable with”

….

“I would want to take some control over my own destiny by following a combination programme that would combine the healing powers of my body and mind.”

“And because I would undoubtedly be shocked and frightened (and possibly not too capable of rational thought) it seems to me sensible to make some plans now. It is a lot easier to be rational and logical about an emotional issue like cancer while you are feeling fit and healthy. It seems to me to make more sense to prepare for this eventuality now – rather than at a time when I might be frightened and shocked to know what to do. I have planned for my old age (in case I am too frail and weak to work and earn a living). It seems to me to make equally good sense to plan for the possibility that I may just one day develop cancer. I may never need to use my cancer plan – just as I may never need to use my retirement plan. But it is good to know that they are there.”

What an absolutely brilliant point. Dr Vernon Coleman’s book “How to stop your doctor from killing you” is available from Amazon and tells you what he would do. What would you do? Tell us how you’d plan to deal with it.

What would you do if you were diagnosed with cancer?

Cancer affects many people these days. As terrifying as the thought is, it may be a good idea to consider in advance, what would you do if you were diagnosed with cancer? Just like we have a plan in place for what would we do the house caught on fire or we were attacked by thieves, having a game plan in place can save your life.

The most common scenario for someone diagnosed with cancer is that they go into shock or denial and loose valuable time. This is where having put together a coping strategy is important.

We’ll post out a few thoughts from people involved in the health field about what they would do if they were diagnosed with cancer. These posts aren’t meant to form any sort of medical diagnosis or treatment protocol. They are intended to provoke you to think about what illness would mean to you with the ultimate aim that thinking about it in advance prepares you for the unexpected and that you weather any storm well. With some though given to the financial and emotional aspects of the journey as well as the physical, we hope you’ll join the list of people who’ve survived. It can be done and preparation helps your chances.

The following video clip was a recent video blog by US health journalist, Kevin Gianni of The Renegade Health Show. In it, he and his wife talk on what they would do if they were diagnosed with cancer:

Sleep Purrfectly

Our little girl, Lucky, has the knack of sleeping:

Lucky cat sleeping

Lucky cat sleeping

Despite looking like she’s been out with her boyfriend all night singing silly songs, she has great sleeping habits and that keeps her cheerful and affectionate.

For her, sleeping comes naturally. Lucky doesn’t sit up late pondering the news, she doesn’t get wired on coffee all day long and she doesn’t seem to fussed about what the future may or may not hold. What about us?

A good night’s sleep is one of the vital foundations for long term health. You probably can get by with the odd late night here and there whilst years of consistently getting poor sleep or short changing yourself on sleep will increase the rate at which your body ages and with that the likelihood of degenerative disease being part of your future.

What can we do to help ensure of sleep is more restful? Here are a few tips:

  1. Dim the lights as the evening progresses.
Light naturally makes the body produce neurotransmitters and hormones to be awake. In nature, sunset switches these off and makes us feel sleepy. In the modern world we have daylight at the flick of a light switch! Use the dimmer or switch to side lights if the main light is to strong and use lower wattage bulbs
  2. Oxygenate
We breathe less deeply when we sleep and many of us close the windows as we live in colder countries. It’s therefore common for us to get a lot less oxygen than we need during the night as this oxygen is meant to be used by the body in it’s restoration processes. Try taking 10 drops of Aerobic Oxygen with a glass of water before sleeping each night. It’ll help the internal organs stay oxygenated so that they can keep working while your brain switches off
  3. Go Before You Go
Sleeping with a full colon will mean that many of the toxins within the colon get reabsorbed into the body. This autointoxication means other organs have to take over the elimination workload on behalf of the colon. Have you ever gone to sleep and woken up to find a big zit appeared on your face? That’s the skin taking over. What about bad breath or snoring? That’s the lungs and nose trying to clear toxins. In either case, if the colon were empty, these symptoms would be either significantly reduced or eliminated altogether. You could take a home enema before sleeping or use Digestion Stimulator or Oxy-powder. If you are regularly getting constipated, do a full colon cleanse

Elvis Presley died of chronic constipation

Today’s Daily Mail reports on a story which isn’t news to most colonic irrigation therapists – Elvis Presley died of chronic constipation according to his doctor. When I first took a clinic based colonic hydrotherapy treatment course as a detoxification, the nurse administering it at the Lynden Hill Clinic gave a lot of insight on Elvis’ diet. It made me consider my own food choices better and through that 10 session programme I came to understand in much more detail how foods affected my moods, health and wellbeing.

Constipation isn’t healthy. It’s very common yet most people ignore their symptoms. If you do that toxins can easily accumulate in your system and turn into something far worse. Colon cancer kills far too many people every year. According to Cancer Research UK, lifetime chances of contracting colorectal cancer are 1 in 16 for men and 1 in 20 for women.

To avoid constipation here are some simple steps:

  • Drink more water and limit your intake of dehydrating drinks like tea, coffee and alcohol
  • Increase the amount of salad you eat to at least the size of a cereal bowl with each dinner. It’s high fibre and water content keeps you going and all the vitamins and antioxidants help reduce toxicity
  • Reduce your intake of dairy products. These become sticky when passing through the colon and slow you down
  • Avoid white processed bread and rice. These have little fibre and will stick to the insides rather than pass through as nature intended, resulting in constipation
  • If you are constipated, strongly restrict your intake of meat or abstain until you regain regularity. Meat has no fibre in it and also carries the highest amount of toxins. Meat waste makes bad bacteria and other pollutants as it passes through, however if it does so slowly the chances of these being reabsorbed into you and damaging your immune are high
  • Avoid fizzy drinks, whether beer, lemonade, cola or fizzy water. The bubbles cause gas that has to come out somewhere and that gas’ natural inclination to rise rather than get pushed down makes it another obstacle to elimination

Using these dietary modifications is simple and anyone can do them at no cost. To get yourself moving initially, do also look at Digestion Stimulator and Oxypowder. If you are shy or you have not the money needed for a health clinic course of colon hydrotherapy, use a home enema kit. It’s quick, easy and painless, makes no mess and you’ll feel great afterwards. It’s normally a lot less smelly than most people normally are since using water to escort everything out quickly reduces the bad odour.

Blessed Herbs Colon Cleansing Kit

Blessed Herbs Colon Cleansing Kit

Lastly, Colon Cleanses like the Blessed Herbs Colon Cleanse Kit, enable you to take a full colon detox. Just like any pipe, the colon is prone to getting blocked and this is your pipe cleaner! It uses herbs to stimulate movement, antioxidants to mitigate the toxins a clogged bowel gives off and healing clays to remove the built up debris. Since having first done one, I’ve found my skin has become much clearer, my energy levels and moods much more stable and my thinking sharper. I also found I didn’t need to eat anywhere near as much to feel full since after cleaning up, all the nutrients in my food was getting in properly.

Elvis’ death was a great tragedy for the world of entertainment and a testimony to how social norms and pride can lead a person to ruin. Like his doctor says in the Daily Mail article, he could still be here now if only he’d taken treatment. Listen to your body and take action if it needs it.
